COLOR OVALS FOR COMPARISON

Your basic wardrobe colors will be chosen from the color ovals pictured here. To simplify color choices, we have organized all colors into 10 color families — red, pink, green, blue, purple, yellow, camel/gray, rust/plum, brown and black/white. Warm Spring and Autumn colors are on the top of the ovals, cool Winter and Summer colors are on the bottom of the ovals, and balanced colors (in-between mixtures of warm and cool colors) are on both ends of the ovals.

SEE HOW YOUR HOMEBASE COLOR COMPARES WITH THE OTHER COLORS

Based on sound color principles, the oval format of colors presented below have been developed and validated by modern scientific technology. The practical layout flows in easy order and has never before been presented in this harmonic sequence. Every conceivable color can be fit into these ten groups.

These illustrated color guidelines apply to, not only your clothing, but to hair-color (dying, frosting, streaking,) makeup, nail polish, hosiery and accessories. Discriminating color choices for home decor, cars, luggage, jewelry, on down to your toothbrush, will create personal color harmony throughout your life.

The icy colors are not necessarily Summer colors. Icy colors fall in the same category as white, and serve to cool out ruddy skintones as well as create contrast for other colors and against skintones. On the color ovals, icy colors can be warm or cool in comparison. Warm icy colors reasonably fall on the top half of the ovals, and cool icy colors fall in the bottom half of the ovals. The warm icy colors can be considered 'balanced' because they have so much white in them. Included in the following ovals are also light shades of warm colors.
